"Television, the drug of the Nation, Breeding ignorance and feeding
radiation"- Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy
As a society, we all watch too much TV. What a waste of a life!
I was never a huge TV buff, I have never watched any of the shitty
'reality'talent shows, or any of the soap operas.
But still, my vice is live sport, and this does cost me a good few
hours a week that could be better spent.
So rather than spend 4 hours a night, looking at a glorified piece
of furniture pumping out adverts, I have decided to go cold turkey.
I switched off for good on Saturday, and aim to do more productive
stuff in my spare time.
So far, in only a few days, I have had some nice walks, been to
the gym, worked out at home, caught up on my reading, tidied up
the house, and started a blog.
Already I'm more relaxed, sleeping better.
Think how much of your life you spend doing nothing....20+ hours a
week must equate to about 10 years of life being wasted watching junk!
When out walking, every single window I looked in had people
vegitating in a zombie like state staring at the coloured lights in
the corner. How sad.
I ain't gonna be a zombie no more.

Experiment # 1 - Kill your Television
Prolog
Midlife crisis - perhaps?
Last year I sunk to a personal low point as my addictions and unhealthy lifestyle threatened to destroy me. I have done a lot of things that I'm ashamed of.
I have, in the last few months started to get my life back on track, with a few small and not so small changes in how I do things. I'm beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and beginning to believe in a bright future again.
I aim to use this blog to record my experiments in life style improvements, and to explore and rationalise some of my past. I have many challenges still to overcome, and hopefully I can share some of these here too.
